Today, the 56th Parliament was declared open and I had the honour of being sworn into the South Australian Legislative Council alongside my friend and colleague Heidi Girolamo.

Another year, another roof blown off the top of the Generations in Jazz Bigtop with Tower of Power playing their hearts out for the gala concert!

GIJ is the number one premier jazz festival in Australia, bar none… and why? Because it’s in the middle of a paddock in Mount Gambier, in the biggest tent in the southern hemisphere, with the world’s best jazz musicians playing for, and teaching, the next generation in jazz.

Well done to all the students who competed and made life-long memories and thank you to all the amazing volunteers who make it happen year in, year out!
